Twice a month I have to answer this question. I am a member of a networking group. At each meeting we have 60 seconds to tell people what type of customer/contact we’re looking for and why. It’s not always easy.
If your answer is everyone, that shows a lack of focus. In every business there’s a group for which you offer the most value right now. Who is that?
Knowing who you’re looking for doesn’t mean that you don’t make contact with everyone who comes your way. What it means is that you’re keeping your eyes and ears open for people who fit into your group.
So, who are you looking for? People who are going through some sort of life change? People who are getting married? People who are getting married? People who just had a baby? People who are bored with what they’re doing?
Give it some thought. Just knowing who you’re looking for will make it easier to find them.
