Settling for the American Dream

Big house. Two new cars. Lavish vacations. The American Dream. Right?

We’re reminded over and over that our treasure isn’t here. There’s nothing wrong with being comfortable. The Bible is clear that you’re to take care of your family. However, when is enough enough?

We live in a society that tells us that comfort is key and security lies in a fat bank account. I know better. Comfort is too often an excuse for not reaching out and making a difference. Security lies in knowing and serving God.

I can’t tell you where to draw the line. That’s between you and God. What I can tell you is that the American dream is a pale second best.
