There’s an old saying that those who fail to plan plan to fail. I know it sounds trite, but it’s true. If you don’t sit down and think about what you want to accomplish and how you’re going to do it, you’re at the mercy of chance.
We’re nearing the end of the year. In about six weeks we’ll all be starting with a fresh, new year. I’m not one to make resolutions, but I am one to make a plan. Right now, before things get too crazy with the holidays, is a great time to take a look back. What worked well this year? What would you do differently if you had a chance? Are you where you’d hoped you’d be by this time of year?
Now, look at the year ahead. Where do you want to be a year from now? What do you want to accomplish? What will it take to make that happen? What steps are necessary to make that happen?
A dream is a hope that maybe someday something will happen. A goal includes a plan with actual steps and a timeline. So, what’s your plan for the next year?
