Get Uncomfortable

Direct sales is an interesting business. There are lots of things you can do in the course of a day. You can be busy all day long and not make a single dime. You can get very focused on things like making flyers, creating cute door prizes, and such. There’s nothing wrong with those things, but they don’t produce income.

I think the reason we do that is that we like the creative stuff. We don’t like making follow-up calls. We don’t like going out and talking to people about our products or our business. So, we stick with what we like to do. We stay busy, but our business stagnates.

I’ve decided that if I’m not doing at least one thing every day that I work that makes me just a little uncomfortable I’m probably not really working my business.
