It’s the first of the month. It happens to be the first of the month of April, but this is no joke. The first of the month can serve as a great reminder to do several things.
Back up your computer files. You might be one of those people who has the computer do an automatic backup. If so, that’s great. Most of us don’t. The first of the month can serve as a wonderful reminder to back up those files.
Do your self-exams. Men and women both die from breast cancer. Men die from testicular cancer. Self-exams are one of the best ways to find both types of cancer. For most women the ideal time to perform a breast self-exam is mid-cycle. However, for those who have passed menopause or who have undergone a hysterectomy those physical clues don’t exist. For us, the first of the month works as a great reminder.
Check your vehicle. Do you need to do any routine maintenance? Is it time for an oil change? How’s the air filter? How’s your tire pressure? You might not need to do anything at all, but it’s a good idea to check.
Finally, do an overview for the month to come. Look over your calendar and get a feel for what’s coming up. Are there holes you want to fill? Have you overscheduled? Take a few minutes to make sure this month is what you want it to be. If not, take steps to whip it into shape.
Taking these steps can help you to stay on top of your business, your physical health, and your safety. Make this a monthly habit. Letting things go is simply foolish. Don’t be an April fool.
