Check Your Focus

In our Bible study a single line caused a lot of lively discussion: If you have an obedience problem, you have a love problem.

Now, agree with the statement or not, it does make a good point in the context of the study. If you are struggling with an area of disobedience, don’t concentrate on the behavior. Concentrate on loving God. Do your best to focus on Him. When you love Him, you want to spend time with him. When you’re focused on Him, sin is much lest tempting.

Being a Christian isn’t about white-knuckling yourself through moments of temptation. It’s about connecting with God. It’s about allowing him to work through you. It’s about love.

So, the next time you’re struggling, check your focus. Make sure your eyes are on Him.
